Occupational Therapist and/or Assistive Technology Specialist

Location: Lacey, Washington

Employment Type: Full-time (35-40 hours/week) with travel

Pay Scale: $48.54-$55.47/hour

Position Overview: We are seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) or Assistive Technology Specialist. This position will play a vital role in program implementation and supporting participants with assistive technology needs from program entry through completion. This position will serve Lewis, Mason, and Grays Harbor Counties along with participants near Lacey, WA.  

Key Responsibilities 

Participant Support & Case Management 

  • Conduct eligibility screenings, functional capacity evaluations, and needs assessments to match participants with Assistive Technology that will further their ability to participate in education, employment, and/or community access.  
  • Collaborate with community partners to identify eligible individuals and ensure seamless service delivery. 
  • Manage a caseload of eligible participants, providing personalized, participant-centered support. 
  • Recommend and coordinate tailored AT solutions based on individual needs, goals, and strengths. 
  • Support coordination for participation in digital literacy training plans for participants. 

Training & Technical Assistance 

  • Provide one-on-one training sessions to ensure participants gain proficiency with AT devices. 
  • Create accessible training guides for AT devices provided to participants. 
  • Deliver ongoing technical support and follow-up sessions to address challenges and adapt solutions as needed. 

Procurement & Coordination 

  • Coordinate the procurement of AT devices with the purchasing department, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment. 
  • Oversee installation of AT devices within the timeline. 

Program Evaluation & Reporting 

  • Collect and analyze participant data to assess program impact and effectiveness. 
  • Administer questionnaires and provide feedback to improve services and outcomes. 
  • Participate in preparing reports for stakeholders, demonstrating program success. 

Compliance & Collaboration 

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state disability laws and ADA guidelines. 
  • Engage with subject matter experts and community partners to enhance services and training materials.

Qualifications 

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Assistive Technology Specialist (AT Specialist) or other relevant experience or licensure 
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of car insurance (required). 
  • Current CPR Certification by time of hire (Required) 
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check upon offer of employment 
  • Experience in conducting functional capacity evaluations for assistive technology solutions preferred 
  • Strong knowledge of assistive technology and ADA compliance. 
  • Ability to keep detailed records and communicate with a diverse population 
  • Ability to travel to various locations for participant screenings and service delivery

Assistant Case Manager - Assistive Technology

Location: Lacey, Washington

Employment Type: Full-time (35-40 hours/week) with travel

Pay Scale: $35.00-$40.00/hour

Position Overview: We are seeking a full-time Assistant Case Manager with qualifications as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, or equivalent experience assistive technology. The Assistant Case Manager will support the Case Manager in delivering participant-centered services, managing program logistics, and ensuring smooth implementation of assistive technology solutions. This position requires travel, a reliable vehicle, and car insurance. 

Key Responsibilities 

Participant Support & Case Management 

  • Collaborate with community partners to identify eligible individuals and ensure seamless service delivery. 
  • Manage a caseload of eligible participants, providing personalized, participant-centered support. 
  • Conduct eligibility screenings, functional capacity evaluations, and needs assessments.

  • Provide follow-up technical support and follow-up sessions to address challenges and adapt solutions as needed under the guidance of the case manager.

  • Coordinate the procurement of AT devices with the purchasing department, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.

  • Assist with scheduling and logistics for AT installation and training sessions. 
  • Maintain detailed participant records and documentation for reporting purposes.

Purchasing Clerk

Location: Lacey, WA 

Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours/week) 

Pay Scale: $19.50 - $21.15/ hour

Position Overview 

The Purchasing Clerk supports the Purchasing Manager by managing day-to-day purchasing operations, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services. This role involves coordinating with vendors, processing purchase orders, tracking shipments, and assisting in procurement processes to meet Sensory Tool House’s operational and contractual needs. 

 Key Responsibilities 

 Procurement Support 

  • Process purchase orders from customers, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational policies. 
  • Maintain and update vendor contracts, pricing agreements, and purchase order records. 
  • Assist in sourcing products and services as directed. 
  • Track order status and coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery. 

 Inventory Coordination 

  • Collaborate with the inventory team to monitor stock levels and identify reorder needs. 
  • Notify the Purchasing Manager of discrepancies, damaged goods, or supply shortages. 

 Vendor Relations 

  • Communicate with vendors to resolve issues such as order discrepancies or delivery delays. 
  • Request quotes and compare pricing to support purchasing decisions. 
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors to ensure reliable service and support. 

 Administrative Tasks 

  • Organize and maintain accurate files for all purchasing-related documents. 
  • Prepare and process invoices and billing records for approval. 
  • Generate reports on purchasing activities, costs, and vendor performance as needed. 
  • Support reporting activities by gathering data on procurement and contract performance. 

 Contract Fulfillment Assistance 

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure contract requirements are met for assistive technology and sensory tools. 
  • Ensure timely communication with customers regarding fulfillment discrepancies, damaged items, or delays. 
  • Assist in tracking and monitoring contract timelines, deliverables, and renewals. 

 Compliance and Process Improvement 

  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing processes for efficiency. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends and suggest cost-saving measures or supplier improvements. 

 *As a small business other duties may be assigned to manage the smooth operations of Sensory Tool House.  

 Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus. 
  • Proven experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative support role preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams) and familiarity with procurement software.

Our customer service staff is not your average retail staff. Not only do you gain the skills in everyday retail work, but you also become a subject matter expert, trained to help the community navigate their sensory support needs.
Aside from retail work our staff goes out in the community and works events to further support access for those who are neurodivergent.
