Our customer service staff is not your average retail staff. Not only do you gain the skills in everyday retail work, but you also become a subject matter expert, trained to help the community navigate their sensory support needs.
Aside from retail work our staff goes out in the community and works events to further support access for those who are neurodivergent.

Customer Experience Associate (Retail)
Pay: $17.66 - $19.50 per hour

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer‑focused retail associate who is eager to learn, engage with the community, and make a meaningful difference.
Position Overview
As a Customer Experience Team Member at Sensory Tool House, LLC (STH), you’ll be the first point of contact for our community—whether in person, over the phone, or online. Your role is to listen with empathy, provide support, and help individuals discover the sensory tools that best meet their unique needs.
We’re looking for team members who are naturally curious, eager to solve problems, and committed to learning about sensory support tools for people of all ages. Over time, you'll develop deep expertise in how our tools can enhance quality of life and provide meaningful support to neurodivergent individuals and others in our community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide prompt, friendly, and professional customer service across multiple channels, including in-person, phone, and email.
- Address customer concerns and complaints in alignment with STH policies, escalating to management when appropriate.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of sensory support products to effectively assist and educate customers.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
- Accurately document customer interactions, transactions, feedback, and issues in accordance with company procedures.
- Greet and acknowledge all customers and clients as they enter and exit the store, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Maintain a sensory-friendly and inclusive store environment, including adjusting lighting, sound, or other sensory elements as needed to support customer comfort.
- Participate in ongoing training related to sensory tools, neurodiversity, customer service, and accessibility best practice.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for purchases, returns, and exchanges.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions with accuracy and attention to security protocols.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Support inventory management, including restocking, merchandising, and maintaining product displays.
- Represent Sensory Tool House at off-site events such as community outreach, sales functions, and sensory room support as assigned.
- Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, solve problems, and continuously improve customer experience.
- Prepare and package online orders for shipping in accordance with shipping procedures.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met in all customer and staff areas.
- Work Independently to perform opening and closing duties.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and company mission.

Required Qualifications:
- At least one year of customer service/retail experience.
- At least 18 years of age due to job duties.
- Ability to work accurately with numbers, with or without the use of calculators or other tools.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all customer and client interactions.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers about safety procedures when testing products in-store, with or without assistive communication tools.
Required within 2 weeks of Employment:
- First Aid CPR Certification
A Successful Candidate Will Be Able To:
- Work independently to perform opening/closing duties and customer interactions.
- Follow instructions presented in verbal, visual, or written formats.
- Adapt to a dynamic retail environment—staying focused during busy periods and self-directing tasks during slower times.
- Interact comfortably and respectfully with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and lived experiences.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness, organizing displays, preparing final packaging, and ensuring overall store presentation — upholding a high standard of quality and creating a welcoming experience for all visitors.
- Demonstrate a willingness and curiosity to learn about product lines, sensory systems, self-regulation strategies, and neurodiversity using training materials and reference resources.

Position Overview
As a Bookkeeping Clerk at Sensory Tool House, LLC (STH), you will support purchasing operations by maintaining accurate item data in QuickBooks Online (QBO), organizing documentation, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements. This part-time role focuses on data integrity, filing receipts, and tracking procurement stages using Microsoft Lists. The position is internal-facing and does not involve handling money or direct vendor/client communication.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping Support
- Enter and maintain item records in QuickBooks Online (QBO), including new SKUs, pricing, categories, and tax settings.
- Upload purchase receipts to appropriate software (Dext, SharePoint, Teams) and file purchase and sales tax documentation.
- Organize and reconcile paperwork (quotes, receipts, invoices, approvals) for audit readiness.
- Prepare and import CSV files for bulk updates (QBO, Shopify, Etc)
Contract Fulfillment Assistance·
- Track procurement stages and timelines using Microsoft Lists.·
- Support reporting activities by gathering data on procurement and contract performance.
*This role is a fixed‑term appointment scheduled to conclude on October 30, 2026; however, there may be opportunities for continued employment depending on organizational needs and satisfactory performance.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ year of office or clerical experience (data entry, record keeping, or administrative support).
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software is a plus.

- Comfortable working with spreadsheets and cloud-based tools (Microsoft 365).
